The importance of fertilization and Weed Control
your lawn requires routine maintenance to stay healthy and grow strong. Without Fertilization and Weed Control, your lawn will not reach it’s full potential. Fertilization allows your lawn to fight off disease and insects, also taking full advantage of sunlight and rain. Fertilizers expedite grass growth, using three main nutrients: Nitrogen, Phosphorus and Potassium. The combination of these three nutrients is how you get a healthy, lush and Green Lawn.
All Fertilizers have Important information printed on the label to assist you in making the correct choice for your lawn. You want to look for 1-1-1. This is called N-P-K ratio, the amount of Nitrogen, Phosphorus & Potassium the Fertilizer contains.
Weed Control
Weed Control is critical to the health and growth of your lawn. When weeds are allowed to grow at will, they block out nessacery sunlight, water and air to the grass wich in turn kills your lawn. Spring is when we start applying Pre-Emergents to get a head start before the weeds start growing. End of summer we also apply slow-release Fertilizer treatments that contribute to maximum chlorophyll production.
Herbicides
- contact Herbicides attack the Weed from outside and work their way inand destroy the photosynthesis process.
- systemic Herbicides are the opposite, they get to the root and the inside of the plant.
- selective Herbicides are very popular, they kill certain weeds without killing your lawn.
- Non- Selective Herbicides kill everything.
